Meet The Team
Karyn Beckner is the Administrative Assistant and Teen Mentor for TawSaeng’s after-school children's program and community center in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She and her husband, Aaron, have been leading TawSaeng for six years. Before moving to Thailand with their three children, they lived and served in church ministry in Arkansas for over 20 years. Karyn has a big heart for her family and the Thai people. She loves snorkeling, football and Dr. Pepper.
Coordinator for Taw Seang Children's Program
Grace has a Bachelors in French Language and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Chiang Mai University. Since 2005, she has worked for Sunshine house, first as a project coordinator, then as a part time counselor. Currently, she serves as Sunshine House’s Director and board chairperson. Sunshine house is a safe house for children of the women who work in the sex bars allowing them to have a better relationship with their children. They also help women who want to transition out by providing life skills, parenting, cooking, and sewing classes, as well as providing educational support and English classes for the children.

Ashley is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with 10 years of experience building and leading strong teams, managing projects and programs, and baking. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Texas A&M University. Prior to coming to Thailand, she was a Program Manager at an IT company in Dallas, TX for 10 years. When her family first moved to Thailand, they worked with an anti-trafficking organization and then started a food delivery program during the first COVID-19 outbreak. Ashley enjoys cooking, baking, spending time with her family and going to the beach! She and Ryan have been married for 17 years and have three children. Their oldest son lives in America and their two daughters live in Chiang Mai with them.

Helen has been an advocate for justice and human rights for 20 years and is passionate to see people walk in freedom. She is the founder of two social justice organizations. The Voice Wagon, is an organization active in raising awareness and preventive measures on Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking to grassroots communities in Asia. The Whispering Willow, is a ministry based in Malaysia and Thailand focused on inner healing, prayer and empowerment for women who are vulnerable or physically & sexually exploited. A Certified Clinical Trauma Counsellor (CCTP) with an emphasis in Neurobiology of Mental Health, Child & Adolescent Trauma & Substance Abuse Treatment, she started her journey in counselling and therapy working with children and later received her certification as a Christian Counselor. Prior to that, she put her Business & Economics degree to good use running multiple businesses around SEA.
Founder of Whispering Willow
Vincent is from Malaysia and was a Navigational Cadet Officer on foreign bound cargo ships to ports around the world. Since 1989, he has been in full time ministry and got equipped as a counsellor through YWAM schools in Singapore, Philippines and Hawaii.
Since 2019, he has been based in Chiang Mai, Thailand with his wife Helen. Through The Whispering Willow, they serve the very people who are exploited in ports around the world.
Project Coordinator for Whispering Willow Foundation
Ryan spent seven years in the United States Marine Corps as a non-commissioned officer. Afterwards, he received his MBA (Finance) from Texas A&M University. He has 14 years experience in budgeting, forecasting and working in international supply chains for multi-national companies like Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper and Jamba Juice. Work included correlating macro-economic and business sales/price variables to develop forecast models, complex financial tools, financial analysis, and statistical forecasting for global supply chains.
